Hi! If you’re holding this bag, let me take you on a little tour of Finland through my eyes.
I came here in 2018 knowing nothing, and since then I’ve stumbled into countless surprises. Student parties introduced me to sauna culture—yes, people even pour beer on the stove. Families welcomed me with salmiakki candy (still undecided if I like it). Kids sled not just on hills but right in their yards and sidewalks.
I discovered lily of the valley, letter boards used as menus, and the sacred Finnish lounas (lunch deal). Coffee is a must—usually filter coffee, but oat milk here converted me for good. Food-wise, I love salmon soup, Karelian pies, and blueberry pie… but I never expected buffet sushi to be everywhere!
Seven years on, I’ve built a new life, faced challenges, and grown so much. Finland gave me the courage to try, fail, and create.
