Hi, this is Anh- a freelance illustrator who loves to capture moments of everyday life through whimsical hand-drawn sketches.
A pothos leaf unfurling, a lovely lunch, an old man sipping coffee—these are all what inspire my works. In a world where art mostly becomes commercial and flooded with mass production, I choose to hold on to the raw charm of handmade lines—imperfect, honest, and deeply personal. I believe there's beauty in simplicity, and that sincerity in art can weave a gentle thread between stories, emotions, and souls.
Why Vermilion?
Vermilion is the shade of red. The name Vermilion began with the very first project I ever created: a wedding stationery suite in deep vermilion color. They asked me to illustrate an invitation suite that could tell their 11-year togetherness. That’s a beautiful wedding suite with full of love! Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with many other couples, and to explore different illustration projects for new customers. But that red invitation set was what made me step into the illustration world seriously. It was the beginning. That’s why I named my art studio Vermilion.
Vermilion by Anh is where I tell the stories of what I see, feel, and love—through illustration, for myself and for others. I don't try to create a perfect, grandiose world. I simply try to hold on to the little things—quiet, familiar, and everyday.
My illustrations take on many forms—each one carrying its own story, a mood, a quiet moment worth remembering. You’ll find original watercolor paintings that capture fleeting emotions, art prints that turn small scenes into something lasting, and postcards that let you send a piece of art to someone you care about.
